1. To maintain and enhance the saltmarsh sward so as to provide suitable conditions for overwintering wildfowl and breeding waders.

2. To maintain and increase the ares of open water.

3. To maintain and increase the numbers of wintering wildfowl and waders.

4. To maintain and increase the numbers of breeding birds.

5. To maintain and enhance the sport of wildfolwing.

These objectives are somewhat interlinked but should be recognised individually in terms of identifying the requirements for positive management.

SUMMARY

It is in the interest of the Association to participate in both shooting and conservation to ensure the future of the habitat on the Solway saltmarshes remains unchanged.
